BAA Spring Show 2026

Spring is in the air, and that means our member Spring Show competition is coming! It is exciting to see all the great work filling the walls at the GEO Gallery.

Remember to check that you are up to date on your membership! No membership payments at the Take-In! If in doubt, ask us.

The Spring Show is a time to try new ideas. Let’s work on expanding our skills and trying new techniques that are more challenging! Feel free to pursue something different.  If we have 4 or more entries of one clear new type of art, we build a new category. 

Remember that the GEO Gallery is small and only wall art is allowed. Any questions about your art, please contact the Exhibit committee before the Take-In day. We are happy to help solve any problems. Art should be maximum 36” wide. If your piece is an unusual size, contact us before the Take-In Day.

Important Dates:

Take-In is on Saturday, May 2, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. 

Artists’ Reception on Saturday, May 16, 4-6 p.m. Music with delicious treats and drinks.

Take-Down is on Saturday, May 30, 10-12 p.m. 

GEO Gallery is located at 1545 Victory Blvd, Glendale, CA 91201. Park behind the building and enter the door from the parking area.

BAA Show Rules:

The BAA competes in two divisions: Open Division and Honor Division. Winners will collect points and after getting 24 points, will enter the Honor Division.  Best in show: 6 points, 1st Place: 5 points, 2nd Place: 3rd Place: 2 points, Honorable Mention: 1 point.

“If there are less than 4 entries in one category, only one award will be given. At the discretion of the exhibit committee and the judge they may be moved to another similar category.”

 (BAA Show rules).

• One artwork per BAA member.

• Art previously shown at a BAA competition cannot be entered. GEO group show does not disqualify.

• Entry Fee: $20. Cash or check.

• No membership payments at Take-In.

• Maximum 36” wide.

The Categories are as follows:

Open Division:

If there are 4 or more entries that can form a new category, it will be made.

Landscapes/Cityscapes/Seascapes, Still Life/ Floral, Life/Genre, Sculpture, Photography, Abstract/Contemporary, and Fantasy.

Honor Division:

As the Division is growing, so will the categories.

Landscape/Seascape/Cityscape, Floral/Genre/Still Life, Abstract/Contemporary.

It is important to remember to put proper hardware for the hanging wire on your art. We will not allow any glue, tape of any kind, modelling clay, cotton string, on the back of your frame. Also, be sure your artwork is securely attached to the frame. We are not responsible for any damage to your art. At the GEO Gallery, we will allow sawtooth hanger for small work. (Please Remember: The Fall Show at the Betsy Lueke’s WILL NOT accept sawtooth!)
