The Burbank Art Association is pleased to offer two $500 art scholarships to 2026 graduating Burbank seniors. These awards will be determined on a competitive basis and require the submission of an art portfolio and artist's statement along with the application form and letter of acceptance.  Graduating seniors from all Burbank high schools are encouraged to participate in this process.

SCHOLARSHIPS: We will be awarding two $500 Scholarships to students applying to a specific art school, academy, college/university, or community college with a plan to major or minor in art, having at least one first semester course of study in an art-related field. Only one application is required to be considered for either scholarship. You must be planning to begin your studies in the Fall 2026 or Winter 2027 term.

PORTFOLIO: Applicants will submit a portfolio that includes 5-7 images of the student’s original artwork.  All materials should be labeled with the artist's name, title of each piece, medium, dimensions, and year completed. Portfolio artwork may include drawings, paintings, photography, ceramics, digital works, mixed media, printmaking, or sculptures. Artwork from your imagination and drawings from life are encouraged. Portfolios may include coursework or artwork created outside of art courses, preferably within the past two years. You may also provide links to your websites, Instagram, or other web pages that show more of your work.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT: The Artist's Statement should include your reasons for wanting to study art, a description of artists and/or work that you admire, and your career goals and artistic aspirations. Your statement should be 200-250 words (double spaced) in length. Be sure to include your name and the date at the top of your statement.

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION: At least one letter of recommendation from current or past instructors or mentors familiar with your artistic qualifications should be included with the application. This does not have to be an art teacher.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Scholarship application including this entire form, your portfolio, artist's statement, letter(s) of recommendation and copy of your letter of acceptance or enrollment application must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026 to be considered for the current year’s scholarships.
