Presenter: Barbara Wetzel
Barbara will be demonstrating Pysanky, the wax-resist technique of decorating traditional Ukrainian Eggs. The process is quite unique and difficult, and each design means something special.
She is a respected Ukrainian-American artist and instructor specializing in pysanky, the traditional Ukrainian art of decorating eggs using a wax-resist (batik) technique. She teaches the meticulous process of using a kistka (stylus) and beeswax to draw intricate, symbolic designs on eggshells, which are then dyed in layers.
