Professional Development for Artists
The workshop is led by Kristine Schomaker, a multidisciplinary artist and art historian. She is the founder of Shoebox PR and publisher of Art and Cake, a contemporary art magazine focused on Los Angeles Art. Through Shoebox PR, Kristine has been helping visual artists create a presence in the art world with social media strategies, networking, curator engagement and more. An artist herself, she understands how much the route to success as an artist has changed in the 21st century.
Kristine believes in building community and supporting artists in this continually evolving business. She works with emerging artists leading them to succeed in their practice. With considerable expertise in networking online and off, Kristine can offer workshop participants the tools, tricks and tips for hands-on control of their careers.
The two hour workshop covers:
Why social media is an important marketing strategy for artists
What social media platforms are best for artists and how to use them effectively
How to brand yourself as an artist
Who you need to know and the delicate art of networking
Where does your art practice fit into your business plan
How to investigate alternative ways of showing over gallery representation
Zoom addressing will be posted.
